Privacy Legislation

The Supreme Court has ruled that information in your trash is “fair game” to anyone. With identity theft and information fraud at an all-time high, the federal government has enacted information destruction laws to protect consumers. These laws  require businesses to destroy rather than simply discard information and were established in an effort to protect the privacy of patients and consumers. By utilizing professional on-site or off-site shredding services you are ensuring that your business is compliant with federal laws. Some of these laws include HIPAA, Gramm Leach Bliley Act, The Economic Espionage Act (EEA), and The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA).
